A note from the Secretary and Treasurer:
As we all know, the weather is definitely getting warmer and with this
there is a increase of activity at the
field. This is a great opportunity for those of you who have some
extra time to volunteer to help finish the flight stations and the
roller for the field.
In our efforts to keep up with AMA
requirements, we have been checking AMA numbers for renewals and it
appears that all the returning members are now current with AMA.
If your AMA number is not current please take care of that today.
We
are receiving notices and getting our paperwork ready to renew our club
charter and property insurance with AMA in March. Because we have
to send in a register of all members in the club, again, please be sure
your AMA membership is up to date.
The training program is underway. We are in the process of
certifying the instructor pilots and will soon begin our INTRODUCTORY
PILOT PROGRAM. We want to extend our appreciation to Tom for his
enthusiasm he is bringing to this program.
Dig Alert was called, the individual utility companies came out
and made the markings on the ground so we can continue with our plan to
divert traffic for the field.
We are pleased with
the participation in the most used frequency survey at last month's
meeting. We are compiling the numbers and will have a list
available for each member at this month's meeting.
Each
member needs to be ever mindful of the spectators walking up to the
fence and coming into the pit area. Let's make sure we keep all
non-members behind the fence and acknowledge that they are there and
answer any questions they may have.
Also, remember, this is YOUR
club. If anyone has any ideas or comments on how we can better
run the club and/or make it grow, please be keeping those notes and
bring them to the meeting so we may discuss new ideas and possibly
implement additional policies as they are voted on.
The April meeting is the second Tuesday which is the 13th. Please mark your calendar as everyone's input is important to make this club run smoothly.
