Letter from the president:

Well another month has gone by and the good weather appears to be holding except for the wind.  Since the club has been in existence for a few months now, it is time to get our financial house in order.  If you have not paid your initiation fee or dues now is the time to take care of this obligation if you intend to become a member of the VVRCF organization.  We have some exciting events coming up and would like to see the club respond with a big turnout.  I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome the new members.  The club is growing nicely and if we keep up the good community relations we should continue to grow.  Rumor has it that the club support trailer is coming along nicely so keep up the good work guys.  Just a little reminder about the club picnic that will be held on the Saturday following the next meeting, hope you all can be there.
Happy landings
                                                                                The President

A note from the Secretary and Treasurer:
Spring is in the air and it is the perfect time to fly! The field has blossomed with lots of weeds and it is each members' responsibility to help keep the field in order so we can all enjoy the great weather and fun.
We are in receipt of our renewed charter. We are reviewing the AMA rules and they will be posted at the field for all to review as soon as we receive the hard copy. As your renewal comes due with the AMA, it is your responsibility to read the "AMA Safety Code" which is received with your new AMA card.
There are several benefits to being an AMA member, in addition to being qualified to be a member of the VVRC Flyers. Each AMA member must sign a statement that they will abide by the AMA Safety Code. Each member is protected by $2.5 million dollar Commercial General Liability Accident/Medical Insurance coverage. The above mentioned insurance covers all AMA members at the flying sight as well as protecting the owner of the site.

The frequency board is finished and will be installed soon at the field. The use of Identification Cards and frequency numbers will be the general procedures for frequency control. A brief statement on the use of the frequency control board, your Identification Card as you are a member of VVRC flyers will replace the frequency number already on the board and when it is your turn for flying, twenty minutes will be the time limit provided other flyers are waiting for the same frequency. We need to be considerate of our fellow flyers, therefore,                     NO FREQUENCY HOGS ALLOWED.
At the March meeting Chuck read the minutes, we discussed the trailer committee, we asked for a volunteer to be the social coordinator, Jaime volunteered. We agreed to have a Bar-B-Que on April 19th, for more information contact Jaime. We discussed the Brian Ranch fun fly and the Apple Valley Air Fair.

The trailer committee met and we have all agreed to compromise. It will not be "gutted" nor will we leave it in the condition it is in. The initial meeting brought forth many ideas and the trailer will be complete, ready to utilize at the field soon.
Once again we would like to express our appreciation to
Hobby Club USA, Steve and Terri Parola, for their generous contributions to our club. The numerous raffle prizes have been a great source of fund raising and has provided us with many laughs at the meetings.
